this is a good take. the biggest thing AI will never be able to replicate, is the human experience. all these generators do, is take their data and mash it together, resulting in nothing more than the sight of, sound of, writing of, a spreadsheet of horrifying amounts of stolen work and data, formatted to not look like, sound like, or read like one.
i have a few takes, and while i'm not an absolute professional on these topics, i'm hoping what i say is accurate enough, and gets my feelings across.
art, as a hobby, be it built, drawn, written, sung or spoken, is inherently healthy to create. on top of providing slow-release dopamine, it helps process tons of stuff, your emotions, your past, your bad habits, your good habits, among many, many other things. it builds community, strengthens your creativity, your curiosity, who you are as a person, too. each individual work, is full of the artist, their perspective on everything.
as such, the artists who get their work scraped and fed into these machines, are right to be upset. they work so hard, speaking often wordless sentences, all for these tech bros to ignore this, and use it as nothing more than slop generation material.
i'll maybe update this later with further thoughts, more directly towards AI itself.
